Film Poster- Individual Idea

Film Poster
A film poster is one of the most eye catching ways to 'sell' a film to an audience. They can appear from anywhere to bus stops to the advertising space on the back of a public toilet door. So, for this reason we have decided that it would be a good idea to create a film poster for our film.

I think as an initial idea it would be good to have either Kyle or The Employer on the cover because they are the main characters in the film. It would be a great idea to have The Employer on this poster due to him being the secret character in the film and audiences won't see him in the film, full faced, until the end of the film so the constant thoughts throughout watching this film will be 'Where is the man on the poster?' which leads the audience to be suspicious of dark clothed man in the film.

If Kyle was on the front, the poster wouldn't seem mysterious or dark because Kyle has an open face that doesn't hold any secrets where as The Employer's does. It is hard to say which is a main character because they both hold a large part in the film but all in all the film is titled The Employer which suggests that he is the main character.

So, I am deciding that The Employer is to be the focus point on the poster. I don't want them both to be on because that could suggest that they're together for some reason when in actual fact, they don't know each other at all. One incident connects them that happened over 10 years ago.

I feel that the poster needs to simple due to the complexity of the narrative in the film so the two are juxtaposed. There is to be nothing that stands out on the poster other than The Employer as he needs to be the focal point of the poster, as he is in the film.

This is the film poster I designed. The Employer is sat where Kyle is sat in shots in the title sequence and the box is placed next to him which suggests that the box is related to him. The title is the thing that stands out the most because, throughout the film, the actual term of address 'The Employer' is never mentioned so this makes it clear that this is an important factor.
