I know that Divergent isn't the same genre as the film we are creating but the official Facebook page is a really good example of a successful social network advertisement.
This is a great example of viral networking!
- The cover photo exhibits the main characters in the film; this could possibly be the film poster. The cover photo says 'In Cinemas Friday' which tells any potential audiences that it is cinema's on the coming Friday. It allows them to decide whether they'd like to see it Friday and it is subconsciously asking them 'What are you doing Friday? Nothing? Come and watch Divergent then!'
- Under the 'Divergent Movie' title anyone looking at the page are told that the page has 1'633,807 likes! Which tells them that this film is going to be hugely popular.
- The description tells the audience that this book is based on a novel by Veronica Roth. The audience will then, if they watch the film and enjoy it, and haven't already read the book, will go and read the book which again, builds a bigger fan base. There is more than one novel as it is a trilogy. If this film is successful, the books will become more popular and so will the films.
- The options to click on are: Photos, Find Times, Videos and there is an option for a quiz. The quiz tells you which Divergent character you are.
- I think the 'FIND TIMES' options is brilliant because it allows potential audiences to see if the film is being shown near them. The picture on the option gives the potential audience a chance to actually buy their tickets from the webpage.
- The photo's and video's option is good because fans and potential audiences can see what is to come in this feature film!
Up to 10 days before the film comes out the Divergent Movie page posted screenshots from the film with '?? days to go!' which allowed audiences to know how long they have to wait before the big release! It also gives a little insight of what is come due to the screen shots.
