When looking at viral advertisement I have come across massive amounts all created to target audiences in different ways. For example for Batman The Dark Knight in which we studied for our AS, we looked at how a newspaper was created called 'The Gotham Times' in which articles were published each week to waiting fans. A low profile website was also created showing random members of the public coated in a layer of white face powder. This was a hint at the joker from Batman.
Another viral campaign I looked into was the 'Dove Campaign for Real Beauty', which is slightly off topic as it is not a horror film, however the basic principles of the effect it has on an audience stay the same. Click Here to watch the link.
The final form of viral advertisement I researched was 'Carrie' the 2013 American thriller. I found this viral ad most interesting. The way powers are used to shock strangers in a local coffee shop allows them to feel shocked, and most importantly what they are observing is real. This is the exact effect that film want to achieve when in the cinema, and so this is why this is one of the most effective forms of Viral Advertisement I have ever whitened.
'Carrie'
