These are the overview of the entire location for scenes from the title sequence and for later in the film.
This is an ideal location for these scenes as it is a rural setting which we wanted to include as it made the story line a lot more personal and therefore it would create more of a connection in Kyle's story. Also it is a lot easier for Kyle to look isolated and lonely as his character is meant to be shown in this way.
The fact that the shots where Kyle is in the park alone and surrounded by only nature and not actually people, evidences his loneliness even more.
These are the choices of benches that we have for Kyle to be sat on in the title sequence and another scene where Kyle is in the park.
The bench on the left looks a lot more natural. The colour of the bench matches a lot of the colours of the leaves which good as it almost blends in with the rest of the setting. Also the bench is made of wood, which is a natural material which would make Kyle stand out against the location which would make him more of the focal point. This could show how isolated Kyle is and would also evidence how alone he is as he is, again, surrounded by plainly a natural environment which puts the idea forward that he only has the bare natural essentials.
The bench on the right is painted an artificial black and made of metal. This bench would be particularly effective as it is next to the road which is another reminder of the environment that Kyle is thrust into and can be shown as another representation of how alone Kyle is in this man-made and dominated world as he has no one else. The fact that we would like Kyle to wear a mixture of natural colours (greens) and darker colours (black and blue) make him blend into the natural environment but also blend into the darker colours of the bench. For him to blend into both types of colours evidences his loneliness even more as he can be passed without a second glance. This adds to the idea of him being homeless and them being almost anonymous.
The overall idea of Kyle being anonymous to the general public aids the plot massively as the Client in the last scene is telling Kyle that no one will miss him because he's a 'nobody' and to show that he can be passed by without anyone giving him a second look puts forward that idea that supports the entire storyline.
